I’ve loved handcrafts for as long as I remember. Crochet since I was 9, and used to do things that I would sell during Christmas time. I moved to the U.S. when I was 17 and dedicated my time to work and study, and forgot about hobbies for a while. In 2007 I had an episode of depression and moved to Peru to get treatment. I was advised to get back to doing things I enjoy that would keep my mind busy; reading and knitting. Two years later my roommate, used to do jewelry as a hobby, and it caught my attention. She took me places where I could learn how to crochet with silver, and make earrings. (the image on the left is the 1st silver earring I made in 2019, it is not for sale).

I moved back to the U.S. and brought silver 950 accessories to continue making earrings. Thereafter, my friends started buying from me, and then, their friends friends, and so on. Then I started having requests for rings, studs, necklaces, bracelets, and that is why I started importing different types of jewelry. All of the sudden I had a collection of silver jewelry. In 2019 I opened a business license and came up with the name Fio Collection. Then, 2020 arrived with a pandemic, a newborn, homeschool for my two oldest children, I paused for two years. Finally, in October 10 of 2022, I finished my website and launched it.
My wish is to add gold and stainless steel jewelry in the future.

My Personal Life

Faith

I love God because he loves me even when I don’t deserve it. I am not perfect and I mess up every day, but he forgives me. I’m in love with the miracle of life and his creation. I’m thankful because he gave his life for me and for you,
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish and have eternal life” John 3:16

Family

My family is everything to me. They are always there, rain or shine, in good and in bad. I’m not going to say things are always perfect and that everyday it is peace and love, but they are a gift. I am grateful for their lives, and love sharing every minute with them. Life would not be the same without them,

Husband

He came to my life at a point in time where I didn’t believe in love, didn’t want to get married nor have kids. I don’t know what he did, but he convinced me otherwise, and here we are married, and with kids. He is part of the supply chain of Fio Collection. He is in charge of bringing supplies from Peru and negotiating for better deals.

My Children

These are my three miracles of life. They are six years apart, yet they somehow manage to have fun together. They make me happy, but we can also drive each other crazy sometimes. I couldn’t live without them. My daughter is in charge of quality control, she is the one who approves or disapproves an item, and of course she tries them on and then wont give them back.

My Parents

I love my parents, they are the best grandparents a child would want. They are the people who are behind the scene spending time with the little ones, so that I can get things done at FIo Collection. I don’t know what I would have done without them.

My Happy Place

I love being near the ocean, not matter where it is. But this one specifically is my favorite: The Galilean Sea. It’s like being in the place where they filmed your favorite movie or the places they talk about in your favorite novel. It is in places like this that I get creative and inspired, to take challenges in life and look forward to the future.

My Stress Reliever

Being a full time mother and running a business can be very stressful. I try to read at least 15min a day, it takes my mind away from reality and helps me relax. Some of these give me peace and calmin times of stress.

Traveling

I love traveling. I love seeing new places, trying local food, learning about other cultures, and meeting new people. I also love to learn about local jewelry or stones, and sometimes even bring some home. I will randomly have one or two pieces in my shop now and then.
